President, CEO, and Co-Founder

Known by friends and colleagues as a man of cunning business sense and possessor of relentless ambition, CEO Kurt Hudson II, 28, is not only the leader but the prophetic puppet-master behind the bigger picture that is Ill Regards Records. The Chicago-born Hudson attributes much of his affinity for business to his mother who raised him as a single parent. As an entrepreneur herself, Hudson’s mother encouraged him to be self-motivated and a person of persuasion. She opened his eyes to the ruthlessness that is often customary in the business world, and taught him to be a hustler – to get his, despite the odds.

Before launching Ill Regards Records, Hudson earned a degree in Computer Information Systems from Lincoln University. He further tested the waters in the business world with a venture called K & K Productions, an entertainment productions company he created with friend Khalid Maxie, who is now a member of the Jrunk Unklz. It was about two years ago that Hudson finally focused his energies on the development of Ill Regards. Projecting his philosophy of the music industry as increasingly a reflection of the status quo and in need of healing via new, inspirational artists, Hudson created Ill Regards Records with that mission as the foundation of the company.

Though Hudson has achieved great things for Ill Regards in the short time it has been on the scene, he has bigger dreams for the label and his artists. He eagerly anticipates the release of the first Jrunk Unklz album, which is expected out mid 2005. Other plans include a possible tour, as well as more local and national performances for his other artists. With several artists working on albums, there is always something to be done around the studio.
